Lincoln and JFK Just Coincidence or Conspiracy?

The shootings of president Abraham Lincoln and John. F. Kennedy are two of the most famous and well documented assassinations in history. Their personal characters, lifestyles and past are as interesting as their contribution to politics. There is still a lot of debate and uncertainty surrounding their killings and opinions are still split on the many conspiracies that surround these leader’s last moments.

Although we may never know for sure all the details that are involved in these events, there are many things that we can derive from the information and reports that are available. One of the most intriguing elements of both these cases is the amount of coincidences that are apparent when you compare the two.

Was born in 1809 and died in 1865, he was the 16th president of the United States of America and was born in a log cabin.

When he was 9 years old his mother Nancy Hanks Lincoln died. His father went onto marry a widow with three children named Sarah Bush Johnson.

He was engaged to his landlords daughter Ann Rutledge, but she died of malaria at the age of just 19.

Lincoln studied law and passed admission to the bar in 1836.

In 1842 he married Mary Todd, they had four sons but only one of them lived to adulthood. Abraham lincoln's assassination date was 14th April. 14/4/65.

Born in 1917 and died in 1963. Assassination date was 22nd November. 22/11/63. He was the youngest president ever elected at the time and the first Roman Catholic to be elected leader in the USA.

He was the 35th president and graduated from Harvard in 1940. He studied at London school of economics and married in 1953.

He also earned a citation for valor while serving in the United States Navy during world war II, after saving some of the lives of his fellow crewmen.

His book Profiles in courage (1956) was awarded a Pulitzer prize in 1957 and was completed while recovering from spinal operations.

This is the maiden name of John. F. Kennedy’s wife, after he died she went on to marry Aristotle Socrates Onassis in 1968 and is now better known as Jackie O.

• Abraham Lincoln was assassinated in Fords theater, while John. F. Kennedy was shot in a car produced by Ford motor company, it was called ‘Lincoln’s.
• Lincoln had a son called Robert and a son named Edward, Kennedy had a brother named Robert and a brother named Edward.
• In both cases the bullet came from behind them and entered the back of their heads.
• Rathbone was injured while with Lincoln, and Connally was injured while with Kennedy, they both have 8 letters in their names.
• J.F.K was elected to congress in the year 1946 and Abraham Lincoln was elected to congress in the year 1846.
• Abraham Lincoln became president in 1860, while John. F. Kennedy was elected president in 1960.
• Abraham Lincoln was believed to have been told by John Nicolay not to go to the theater.
• John. F. Kennedy was believed to have been told by Evelyn Lincoln not to go to Dallas.
• Their assassins were both southerners.
• Their political successors were both southerners.
• Their political successors were both named Johnson.
• Abraham Lincoln was succeeded by Andrew Johnson who died in 1875, 10 years after Lincoln.
• John. F. Kennedy was succeeded by Lyndon Johnson who died in 1973, 10 years after Kennedy.
• Andrew Johnson was born in the year 1808 and Lyndon Johnson was born in the year 1908.
• Both Johnson's names contain 13 letters.
• Both assassinations happened on a Friday.
• Their wives were both with them when they were killed.
• While residing in the white house both Mary and Jacqueline, experienced the loss of a child while their husband was president.
• Lincoln and Kennedy both have 7 letters.
• The vowel and consonant arrangement are the same for both surnames.
• Vice President to Lincoln, Andrew Johnson served in the House of Representatives in 1847 and Vice President to Kennedy, Lyndon Johnson served in the House of Representatives in 1947.
• They both ordered the treasury to print money.
• Abraham Lincoln died in Petersen's house while Kennedy died in Parkland Hospital, both these buildings share the first initials P and H.
• Kennedy's father and Lincoln son at the Court of St James became the Ambassador to England.
• Both the presidents bodyguards were away from their posts at the times of the assassination.
• They were both involved in civil rights movements.
• Lincoln failed to win the Vice Presidential nomination in 1856 and JFK had the same issue a hundred years later in 1956.
• Stephen Douglas was born in 1813 and he was defeated by Lincoln, and Richard Nixon was born in 1913 and was defeated by Kennedy.

Was shot by Jack Ruby, in front of cameras, 2 days after the J. F. K. killing.

The Warren Report, was issued to investigate the death of the president. It consisted of 296,000 words and became 24 volumes of testimony, gathered from enquiries, and witness accounts. It was compiled and worked on for the months that proceeded the tragic event.

It was not known if he was killed or committed suicide when he was overtaken 12 days after the assassination.

He also managed to break his leg when jumping onto the stage from the balcony, when making his escape.

He was an actor in Shakespearian plays, and the word assassinate is thought to have been the invention of William Shakespeare as he is credited with being the first to document it.

• According to current official documentation and information Abraham Lincoln was shot by John Wilkes Booth who was born in 1838.
• According to current official documentation and information, John. F. Kennedy was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald and he was born in 1939.
• Both killers were known by three names.
• They were both killed before they went to trial.
• They both have 15 letters in their names.
• After the shootings it is believed that Oswald ran from a warehouse and into a theater.
• When Booth escaped the scene of the shooting he went from the theater and into a storage/warehouse building.
• The Ford theater was converted into a warehouse.

There are over 100 coincidences being debated to date and information is being added and discovered even today. Although most of them seem superficial or irreverent it is still an enlightening subject to delve into. I for one certainly know more about Lincoln and Kennedy as a result, even if the conspiracies are a little rough around the edges, the facts that I have come across have still been an education.
