Products that are good for the environment.

Although there has been some dispute recently about whether global warming is a reality or not, and as the debate continues to run, there has been a visible counter shift in popular opinion, with issues concerning the environment. Many are abandoning there previous beliefs, to adopt the new denier trend that has arisen in the media and among experts.

Yet regardless of the actual figures, data and speculation that has currently presented itself, looking after your environment just makes sense, doesn't it? With or without any of the previous potential impending, apocalyptic effects that were predicted.

Our planet is our home and taking good care the place where we live, along with helping others that share it, is just good common sense. Even if global warming or cooling, is not inevitable, investing in products that help the environment is undoubtedly better for all and preferred to a unsustainable, throw away approach to consuming.

Eco-friendly goods are products that are developed to save energy or are produced from sustainable resources. They are the products that are free or virtually free of toxins, emit little or no pollution into the atmosphere and do not impact great damage on the environment.

Thank-fully due to the demand for products that are organic, energy saving and made from sustainable materials, there is more choice then ever to invest in products that are good for the environment. However if demand for these products decreases so will there availability, manufacturing and production.

Fortunately you do not have to go out and buy things you don't want or need, to help the environment, just the eco friendly alternative. Here are some of my favourites.

I love to cook, so this kind of environmentally friendly product is right up my street.

The pressure cooker uses 50 to 75 per cent less energy to cook then a conventional sauce pan.

Not only is this good for the environment but it will also save you money on your energy bills.

Traditional synthetic candles are made from paraffin wax, this means that when they are lit and burning, they are releasing all kinds of toxins into the environment like acetone, benzine, lead and mercury.

However beeswax and soy candles are toxin free, they also have a 50 per cent longer burning time.

You can also get creative and make your own candles.

Bamboo is a fast growing plant and is grown without the need for pesticides.

Bamboo has anti-static, anti-bacterial and even anti-fungal properties.

Bamboo is three times more absorbent then Cotton and feels just as warm, soft and plush as a conventional towel robe.

There are many different designs and styles now being produced as this product becomes ever more popular.

Kettles take up vast amounts of energy to boil and due to the consistency of which we use them, it's no surprise they our one of the biggest contributors to energy use in the home.

As well as investing in an energy saving kettle, by only filling your kettle with as much water as you are going to use, prevents any water being wasted or unnecessary energy use.

These are brilliant little gadgets, powered either by the sun or your own energy, there is no need for batteries, we all know how detrimental they are to the environment.

Mp3 players also hold music digitally which also means no Cd's, a collection of music that would once fill a whole room, can now be contained in a gadget the size of a matchbox.

Think about how many times you have charged your phone up at the mains, it soon adds up to be a substantial drain on the electricity supply, this simple gadget eliminates this by needing only you to wind it up. Genius.

Some also come with added extras like a torch.

There are so many pro environmental arguments for growing your own food. It cuts down on packaging, transportation, pesticides and food waste. For these reasons alone it is worth at least giving a try, even if your not particularly green fingered.

It is also going to save you money and is actually really rewarding.
