Smart drugs.
56The new wave of Nootropics.
Nootropics properties are of neurological improvement or enhancement and essentially are a good thing.
Essential fatty acids and omega 3 oils are both nootropics and these as we know are good for our body and mind and are perfectly safe.
Even when nootropics are in the form of pharmaceuticals generally they are of benefit to the individual and not of detriment.
The problems with nootropics only really start to arise when they are used excessively or when people take medication that is not prescribed for them.
Why would anyone want to take medication for an illness or dieses they do not have?
Drugs are predominantly not always taken or used for there original purpose, for instance ecstasy was designed and created for the soul aim of keeping struggling married couples together, by imitating there initial feelings of love for one another in the pretence of reigniting passions and sustaining their relationship. As we now know it's taken as a form of recreational drug, to help produce 'good feelings' and as an aid for a good time or for alternate sensory experimentation.
There are of course many other examples of drugs being used as a recreational mean and primarily to effect emotional or physical state. It is acknowledged that the miss use of drugs is dangerous, causing long term health issues and in some more severe cases, death.
A rising number of students are now using forms of nootropics for an educational and academic edge. Taking smart drugs to help them retain information, stay alert, motivated and pass exams.
What are students taking, why are they taking it and what are the drugs supposed to treat?

See results without votingWhat are the dangers?
There are many, a lot of these drugs are new to the market and the long term effects and even a number of short term side effects are unknown.
As with any kind of drug there's the possibility of dependency on the drug as well as addiction. Students may find themselves unable to function or cope with out certain substances in their system.
They may not actually be as beneficial as assumed because the drugs are not designed for a healthy mind, the drug may have the opposite effect on the mind weather immediately in a few months time or in a few years time.
You may get more or less then you bargained for. Many students are obtaining smart drugs from the Internet and as with any form of substance not provided by a surgery, hospital or a medical expert, there is no guarantee your getting what you paid for.

Nootropics and Piracetam aren't necessarily new - they have been around since the 1960's... But what is new is the way they are being used. Leading products in the field of smart drugs are using Piracetam based stacks as cognitive enhancers. Products like PROFIDERALL have so popular that they are being called Adderall Alternatives. And with the rise of smart drugs both in colleges and the work place, Piracetam and supplements like this seem to be the future of cognitive enhancement.
