How to treat acne and achieve healthy skin?
73What is Acne?
Acne Vulgaris is a skin condition of which spots appear mainly on the face but can also develop around the neck, chest or back.
Mild acne appears in the form of occasional outbreaks of black heads, inflamed spots called papules and raised white centred pus filled spots called pastules. In most cases this is nothing more then an inconvenience for the sufferer and will either pass in no more then a few days or will significantly improve with a healthier diet and improved cleanliness.
However in the more severe cases of acne, where painful inflamed cysts develop and can cause permanent scaring or pitting of the skin, medical treatment is often preferred.
Acne can be painful and can cause embarrassment for some of the people who suffer from it, although it is most common with teenagers, many adults also get acne.
What causes acne?
The skins sebaceous glads get blocked, the glads create an oily substance used to lubricate the skin called sebum. Blemishes are a result of sebum that is trapped within the tissue in the skins pores, that has attracted bacteria.
This can happen for a number of reasons, one would be by the overloading of toxins, in the body. With things like substantial alcohol, sugar and processed food intake. Meaning the liver can not filter the toxins as it would normally and some would get directed out to the skin.
External pollutants will also have a negative effect on the condition of the skin.
In teenagers the cause is more often then not their changing hormones.
Lack of exercise and cleanliness can be a contributing factor as well as stresses on the body.
Treating acne with supplements.
As already mentioned there are many factors that contribute to acne, however like wise there are also many ways to treat it. Washing more regularly and using antibacterial soap is one example. Taking more exercise and eating a healthy diet, are others.

Great hub Wrenfrost. My son uses a shaving alum block on his face and this has helped to greatly reduce his spots. It has very strong astringent properties and it was what my husband used to use. I just used Clearasil!
